Stones Green Ginger Wine

Produced in England since 1740, Stone’s Original Green Ginger Wine has been made in Australia to the same ancient formula since the early 1960’s. Stone’s is believed to be one of the oldest registered wine or spirit brands in continuous production since its initial launch. Ginger is one of the oldest herbs known to man, and is popular in oriental cooking and confectionary. Ginger has also been linked with many therapeutic values. The ginger used for Stone’s is grown in Queensland at Buderim. The character of the ginger is drawn out by infusing it in spirit for an extended period.

The Hanging Rock Winery Pty Ltd. Established in 1983 by John and Ann Ellis, their flagship range is headed by 'Macedon', a rich, complex, dry-finishing, non-vintage Champagne-style sparkling, unashamedly modelled on the non-vintage wines of Krug and Bollinger. All that time spent working as a drink waiter and cellar manager while he was failing Veterinary Science, must have made an impression on John. He graduated as Dux of his winemaking course from Roseworthy College in 1971 and then began his illustrious winemaking career at Krondorf and Yalumba wineries.

Taltarni Vineyards & Winery A farmer and miner, Yorkshireman Edwin Makereth, first planted vines in Avoca in 1887. At this time Italian viticultural expert, Romeo Bragato, further claimed the suitability of Avoca as a winegrowing district. He particularly noted the areas¹ good drainage and advised the planting of shiraz, pinot noir and mataro and encouraged several other farmers to establish small vineyards in the area.

Pyren Vineyard

Situated on the northern slopes of the dramatic Warrenmang Valley in Australia’s Pyrenees wine region, the vineyard’s dedicated purpose is to produce premium wine and, in particular, great shiraz. Approximately 50 acres are planted to shiraz, with the remainder of the vineyard dedicated to cabernet sauvignon, cabernet franc, petit verdot, malbec, durif and viognier.
