In 1862 Thomas Cooper started a small brewing venture in the fledgling colony of South Australia through the strangest circumstances. His ailing wife required a tonic, and Thomas, following a family recipe, produced a restorative brew. His efforts were soon recognised by the local colonials and his brews grew rapidly in popularity.
Today, Coopers Brewery is Australia's sole remaining family owned brewery. Although much has changed since the days of brewing in wooden barrels, Coopers remains synonymous with exceptional quality beers.
