Australia Bay Seafoods, founded in 1987, began exporting to the world in 1997. With a total commitment to quality and customer service from the outset, Australia Bay has been one of the great success stories in the Australian Fishing Industry. As fishermen and then trawler captains, the founders recognised that a competitive advantage could be taken in the fish export industry by setting a far higher, new standard of quality. This, they are delighted to have achieved.
Fish for export is processed and frozen on-board the fishing vessel then packed directly into sea-containers within an hour of the boat coming alongside.
Currently the only licensed fish trawler operation in the Northern Territory, Australia Bay is able to bring the best fish to market from this enormous sustainable resource. They do this in the context of Their outstanding, self-imposed quality standards that will now set the benchmark for any future entrants to the market. They also operate 75% of the total catch quota in Queensland.
Today, Australia Bay exports the finest species of tropical finfish all over the world - to Europe, Asia and the Americas. Annually, over one thousand tonnes of this delicious fish graces the menus of the best restaurants from London to Singapore, from Beijing to New York, from Rome to Hong-Kong.
